Dino Parque Lourinhã – Portuguese Jurassic Park

I have just parked, opened the door and put my feet on the ground when all of us heard a loud roar. My 10 years old nephew stood paralyzed on the parking looking around. I can swear he was about to get back into the vehicle. Hopefully right on time he has spotted the same thing that I had: huge dinosaur on the other side of the street. Thus I heard “WOOOW” and I could see Mati running on the direction of the Dino Park Lourinhã. The main entrance reminds a cave or Fred Flinston’s house.

Habitants of Dino Parque

Firstly at the indoor part of the Dino Parque we can take a look at the skeletons and moreover see paleontologists at work in the lab. Adventure starts outside from where the roars and laughs come from. There are real size dinosaurs in the wood: Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus rex (the most famous predator ever) and many more. Furthermore Skeletons of two species were discovered at Lourinhã’s area: Torvossauros gurneyi and Lourinhasauros. Come to Dino Parque to check them all!

Infrastructure of Dino Parque

Indeed I was amazed by the size of the park and how well infrastructure is planned. There are sandboxes where kids can play paleontologist searching for dinosaur’s teeth and bones. My nephew didn’t wanted to leave :). You can find inside a cafeteria, restaurant and a gift shop. It was interesting to see families with teenagers, school age kids and with 2-3 years old. Taking pictures, having a snack, walking and playing took us 2 hours and then we headed to a beautiful beach nearby: Praia da Areia Branca. Trust me, undoubtedly it was a perfect plan for a weekend for kids and adults.
